instructions Basic Cole Slaw

  1. Chop the Cole Slaw "guts" if you dont buy prepared bagged slaw. Typical coleslaw is carrots and cabbage. The onions give it a great flavor. I've had it with apple, and its interesting as well..
  2. Combine the "sauce" ingredients in a blender. Blend to a smooth consistency..
  3. Pour the sauce into the Cole Slaw "guts" and combine completely. (If you want more sauce, just up the ingredients to your liking.) Refrigerate for a few hours before eating...you'll appreciate it better..
  4. I do NOT use milk in my recipe because I hate liquidy coleslaw. Hope you like it..

Asian Coleslaw With Ginger Dressing, Avocado Coleslaw, Chinese Coleslaw A La Poggi, etc. It was important to salt the shredded cabbage for our Basic Creamy Coleslaw to remove excess water before dressing it. Allowing the salted cabbage to sit for at least one hour drained off most of the liquid. Of course most everybody has a coleslaw recipe they love. I happen to like a variety of them, so I'm not really loyal to any one.
